Promoting tourism in Madagascar : Working with influencers

The goal of one million visitors by 2028

Collaborations are intensifying to reach the target of one million visitors by 2028. The Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts, Ravinala Airports, and the Radisson Hotel Group are jointly promoting Madagascar as a destination, with a focus on Antananarivo and Nosy Be, on a global scale.

The initiative was presented on May 25, 2024, at the Radisson Blu Tana Waterfront Hotel. To promote Nosy Be internationally, it is essential to diversify tourism in Nosy Be and eventually throughout Madagascar, offering a wide range of tourist experiences. « We aim to demonstrate our ability to welcome the world to Madagascar with Malagasy hospitality that meets international standards », said Julien Coffinier, General Manager of Ravinala Airports.

The goal of deseasonalization is to maintain a steady influx of tourists throughout the year, comparable to the high season months of June, July, and August. Currently, Madagascar is served by a dozen airlines. As part of this collaboration, 11 renowned influencers, including 10 Europeans, will travel across the country from May 25 to 31 to explore and promote Madagascar.

Organizers estimate the influencers’ combined audience at around 4 million subscribers across various platforms. The global impact is expected to be even greater, as each subscriber can share content and reach broader audiences.
