Ambilobe Bridge Repair: PM on the Ground

Security and development at the heart of the work

Prime Minister Ntsay Christian visited the Mahavavy Bridge repair site in Ambilobe. According to him, work is progressing rapidly.

The Ministry of Public Works, in partnership with the Colas company, is installing an iron bridge connecting the southern section of the old, destroyed bridge to Laidama. This first phase aims to secure the passage between the south and north of the city.

The Prime Minister announced the upcoming launch of new work on the left side of the Mahavavy River to strengthen the foundations and prepare for the installation of a new bridge. The call for tenders for the Mahavavy and Ifasy bridges, including pedestrian crossings, has been finalized. The companies responsible for these future infrastructure projects will soon be announced.

The Head of Government also thanked the President of the Republic, Andry Rajoelina, for his commitment to finding sustainable solutions. “The complete renovation of National Road No. 6 (RN6) and local bridges will help eliminate the difficulties encountered by the population during the summer season,” he added.

Ntsay Christian traveled with Member of Parliament Assimo Bruno and the mayor of the urban commune, Zella Carbonel. Local authorities emphasized the importance of this direct monitoring to ensure the quality and safety of infrastructure.

“This project, part of the national road and bridge modernization program, promotes economic development, facilitates trade, and improves travel conditions for residents,” the mayor stated.
