A Day to Celebrate Their Rights and Potential
This Saturday, March 8, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, the main hall of the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts hosted an event organized by the network of Women Builders of Madagascar.
The goal is to celebrate empowerment and equality, while launching a call to action for the elimination of inequalities. « Women deserve to evolve, take a stand, set limits, whether in the family sphere or elsewhere », said Sylvain Courdil of the association Les Artisans du Végétal. A strong message, supported by Bakolinirina Ramerijaona, Ambassador of the organizing network: « Together, we can build a future where everyone can realize their full potential, where gender equality becomes a reality ».
The event highlighted the importance of crafts, which represents three-quarters of national employment, with 80% of positions held by women. « We must support their creativity and know-how », insisted Andrianina Tsiry, representative of Madagascar Entreprise de Développement.
Inspiring interventions punctuated the day, including that of coach Cedric Motchebong, who encouraged reflection on individual commitment to the country. Dr. Rasamijaona Malala, DG of Crafts, recalled that « equal rights are also a question of respect ».
At the same time, workshops allowed participants to explore key themes such as learning trades, the importance of formalization and the export of craft products. Reading the international charters on equality and fair trade strengthened collective commitment.
