Startup Fair: The best ideas from the Comoros in competition

Promising projects to transform the local economy

56 young people were selected from the archipelago’s four islands following pre-selection sessions in Moroni, Mutsamudu, Dzaoudzi, and Fomboni.

In Ngazidja, 35 out of 81 candidates were selected, in Ndzuani 11 out of 72, in Mayotte 3 out of 12, and in Mwali 7 out of 42. These young people will present their projects at the fair. The goal is to identify the 10 to 12 best projects to participate in Startup Weekend. The National Agency for the Promotion of Investment (ANPI) explains that the goal is to “connect young entrepreneurs with businesses, institutions, incubators, and partners.”

The fair will also feature networking sessions. Nominees will have the opportunity to meet local and international businesspeople. The Techstars Startup Weekend BIK 2025 Edition will provide participants with the tools to transform their ideas into concrete and profitable businesses in the Comoros. These selected candidates will also be able to expand their network and discover investment opportunities.

Participants will demonstrate their entrepreneurial skills to a panel of judges. Evaluators will assess their commitment, skills, and the maturity of their projects. This will help them secure funding or partnerships. Techstars mentors will support participants in building teams and improving their presentations.

Held under the high patronage of the Head of State, Azali Assoumani, this edition benefits from the support of numerous partners. The event aims to develop a strong and sustainable economic ecosystem capable of creating jobs and wealth for the country.
