Experts from 13 countries gathered
Strengthening cybersecurity skills is at the heart of a new international program launched on June 30, 2025, in Mauritius.
The Ministry of Information Technology, through the Computer Emergency Response Team of Mauritius (CERT-MU), is organizing this training at the Hennessy Park Hotel in Ébène.
The opening ceremony was chaired by Avinash Ramtohul, Minister in charge, in the presence of experts and representatives from the European Union and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The program, which runs from June 30 to July 4, 2025, brings together participants from 13 countries: Mauritius, Djibouti, Nigeria, Tunisia, Albania, Malaysia, Zimbabwe, India, Tanzania, Namibia, Somalia, Zambia, and Uganda. The workshop is organized with the support of the ITU and funded by the European Union, as part of a project to support digital transformation.
During this training, participants will learn the basics of cyber threat intelligence, the tools to use, and the key steps in Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) work. The training also includes an introduction to methods for sharing threat information via specialized platforms, such as the Malware Information Sharing Platform (MISP).
An important point is cooperation between countries to better combat cyber attacks that transcend borders. The country aims to become a reliable and secure digital hub, helping to make cyberspace more secure for everyone.
