Andry Rajoelina launches the festivities for the 65th anniversary of independence

National mobilization around the flag

On June 2, 2025, the official launch of the festivities for the 65th anniversary of Madagascar’s independence took place at Parvis Analakely in Antananarivo.

The ceremony brought together President Andry Rajoelina, members of the government, and numerous officials. During this ceremony, a strong call was made to the entire population to unite around the national flag. Every home, school, and office is encouraged to hoist this symbol, representing pride in a free country and love for one’s homeland.

This year’s theme, “Love of Homeland, the Engine of Progress,” underscores the importance of patriotism in the country’s development. This sentiment must be expressed through respect for the law, solidarity, and working together in the service of Madagascar.

The presence of the Prime Minister and several heads of institutions reinforced this message of national unity. The Minister of the Armed Forces, General Lala Sahivelo Monja Delphin, issued a passionate call for mobilization. According to him, “Moving Madagascar forward is presented as a right but also a responsibility shared by all citizens.”

These festivities, which will take place over several days, serve as a reminder that love for one’s homeland remains the essential force for building a strong and prosperous future for the entire nation.
