A project that brings hope to the Comoros
On the island of Ndzuani, around fifteen business leaders gathered to discuss an important project. Called Risec, this project aims to better integrate women and people with disabilities into the workforce.
This meeting, organized by the Ministry of Labor and the Comorian Business Movement (Modec), concluded on June 5 at the Ndzuani Chamber of Commerce. Moctar Zouboudou, President of a committee responsible for social dialogue, pointed out that there is very little data on people with disabilities in the Comoros. “These people face great difficulties, particularly in accessing education and employment. This project aims to change that,” he explained.
For his part, Djamaldine Moussa, representative of Modec, encouraged the leaders present to adopt Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). This approach allows economic structures to play a useful role in society, while strengthening their activities. “Several are ready to welcome people with disabilities, whether as employees or as customers,” he said.
Soidiki Abdallah Moussa, also of Modec, welcomed the positive momentum observed on the island. He emphasized the importance of the commitments made, particularly to develop adapted spaces. The Risec project, funded by the International Labor Organization (ILO), will soon continue in Mwali, after an initial phase in Ngazidja.
