Marco Gagiano has been appointed Global Director of Connectivity at Cassava Technologies since September 2025. This appointment reflects the group’s ambition to strengthen digital transformation in Africa.

With more than 20 years of experience in telecoms and technology, he has held management positions at MTN, Vodacom and Vodafone. Gagiano has worked in particular on product strategy, digital transformation and business development. At Cassava, the manager is responsible for developing connectivity services throughout the continent, including optical fiber, satellite, wireless networks and voice and data offers.

This appointment comes in a context of rapid expansion for the group. The group has launched a partnership with Accenture to develop African artificial intelligence and plans to create AI factories in South Africa, Kenya, Egypt, Morocco and Nigeria.

In parallel, the company has obtained a financing of 90 million USD from the American DFC, with Google and Finnfund, to support the expansion of its fiber network, already more than 110,000 km long. Marco Gagiano’s mission will be to strengthen connectivity and contribute to making Africa a connected and innovative continent.
