5 days to boost the regional economy
Antananarivo will be the regional capital of industrialization from July 28 to August 1, 2025, with the organization of the 8th edition of the SIW at the Novotel.
This major economic event will bring together more than 500 participants from the 16 member states of the Southern African Development Community, including policymakers, investors, businesses, and development partners.
Themed “Promoting Industrialization, Agricultural System Transformation, and Energy Transition for a Resilient SADC,” this edition will coincide with the 45th SADC Heads of State Summit and the 25th anniversary of Madagascar’s membership in the organization. The island nation intends to strengthen its role in regional industrial transformation by highlighting its unique characteristics and advocating for improved maritime and air connectivity.
The five-day program will include thematic sessions on the energy transition, financing industrialization, agricultural transformation, as well as the development of SMEs and special economic zones. An exhibition center with 100 booths will allow local and regional businesses to showcase their products and innovations. New this year: industrial and tourist tours to discover the potential of Madagascar’s regions.
Organized by the Malagasy government, the SADC General Secretariat, the Syndicat des Industries de Madagascar, and the SADC Business Council, SIW 2025 aims to stimulate public-private synergies, strengthen regional value chains, and attract key investments for a sustainable and competitive Southern Africa.
