An agreement to improve skills in Mayotte, Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy
On July 10, 2025, in Paris, OPCO Santé and AKTO signed a partnership agreement to support private healthcare, medico-social, and social services companies in Saint-Barthélemy, Saint-Martin, and Mayotte.
Approximately 60 local companies and 1,500 employees will benefit from this support. OPCO Santé, a major player in the medico-social sector, is partnering with AKTO, the sole service provider in these territories. The objective is to facilitate access to training, finance work-study contracts, and offer support tailored to local specificities.
These three territories face significant challenges in ensuring access to healthcare and social services, with a particularly difficult situation in Mayotte, recently hit by Cyclone Chido. This partnership addresses these needs by strengthening professional skills.
According to Eric Deniset and Jean-Pierre Mercier, President and Vice-President of OPCO Santé, the agreement represents a key step forward in enabling local institutions to find appropriate employment and training solutions.
For their part, Jean Hédou and Laurent Barthelemy, President and Vice-President of AKTO, emphasize the strategic importance of ensuring equal access to healthcare throughout France. A national monitoring committee will meet twice a year to oversee and adjust the actions undertaken under this agreement.
