At the African Banker Awards 2025 ceremony held in Abidjan, Nadia Fettah, Morocco’s Minister of Economy and Finance, was named Finance Minister of the Year.
This award was presented to her for her sound economic decisions and the reforms implemented to attract more investment to her country. The ceremony took place on the sidelines of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Annual Meetings.
Other personalities were also recognized. Patricia Ojangole, Director of the Uganda Development Bank, received the Banker of the Year award. The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria was named Governor of the Year, and the Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Idrissa Nassa, Managing Director of Coris Bank International. Finally, the East and Southern African Trade and Development Bank (TDB) was named African Bank of the Year.
