The Cambaie Sud zone becomes the Abdéali Goulamaly zone
The business park located in Cambaie Sud, in the west of Réunion Island, now bears the name Abdéali Goulamaly.
The official naming ceremony was held on July 17, 2025, in the presence of Emmanuel Séraphin, President of the Western Territory, Regional President Huguette Bello, and the Reunionese businessman’s family and friends. According to the authorities, “this choice reflects the strong desire of local authorities to recognize individuals who have contributed to the island’s economic and human development.”
Goulamaly left his mark on the history of Réunion Island with his remarkable career in commerce, maritime transport, and the hotel industry. Naming this business park after him is a tribute to his entrepreneurial spirit and lasting impact on the local economy.
Designed as a modern, innovative, and environmentally friendly business park, the new zone will be equipped with infrastructure adapted to the tropical climate and built from bio-sourced materials. Priority is given to renewable energy production, controlled water resource management, and careful landscaping. Three major economic hubs will structure the complex: a technology park dedicated to energy and innovation, an industrial and logistics hub covering more than seven hectares, and a service sector hub focused on research and training. These facilities aim to attract high-value-added companies and create skilled jobs for residents of the western region.
The Abdéali Goulamaly area is part of an ambitious regional project. The infrastructure is located at the heart of what will become the future “15-minute city,” an urban space where residents can easily access their homes, jobs, and public services by walking or cycling. This new development model aims to reduce motorized travel and promote a more sustainable lifestyle.
