Public-private dialogue strengthens
The 2025-2027 strategic plan and the resource mobilization strategy of the Permanent Technical Secretariat (PTS) were validated during a workshop held on July 16, 2025, in Moroni.
These two tools were developed to help better structure dialogue between the public and private sectors in the Comoros. The workshop was organized by the Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Crafts of the Comoros (UCCIA), in partnership with the International Trade Center (ITC) and with the support of the European Union through the 11th European Development Fund.
The plan will serve as a guide for the PTS’s actions over the next three years. The resource mobilization strategy aims to ensure the continuity and effectiveness of the PTS’s activities. These two documents were prepared by two experts. “I worked on the framework, and my colleague was in charge of the mobilization strategy. We are now presenting them to the stakeholders for validation,” said Nadia Tourqui, Strategic Planning Consultant.
According to Hamidou Mhoma, Representative of Uccia, these two documents demonstrate a clear ambition: to boost the Comorian economy. “The STP, which operates on our premises, represents real progress. We want to encourage “Made in Comoros” products, create jobs, and strengthen our productive sector,” he stated.
The following day, discussions continued with the participation of representatives from the government, the private sector, civil society, and technical partners. All were invited to engage in this joint initiative. Uccia reiterated that it will play its full role in this process, emphasizing that the success of the dialogue between the public and private sectors depends on the active participation of all the country’s economic stakeholders.
