Entrepreneurs and investors mobilize in the Comoros

The BIK (Business Invest Komor) 2025 Business Fair opened its doors on August 27, 2025, at the People’s Palace.

The day began with a panel discussion on the theme: “50 Years of Independence: Invest Today, Transform Tomorrow.” The Minister of Economy, the Head of the European Union Office in Moroni, the OIC Islamic Center for the Development of Trade, and several local bank executives discussed the opportunities and challenges of investing in the archipelago.

Numerous booths and exhibitors attracted a large crowd at the entrance to the Palace. Visitors discovered local and international innovations in the agriculture, tourism, culture, and digital sectors. The large crowd illustrates the growing interest in entrepreneurship and demonstrates the desire of young people to be actively involved in the country’s economic development.

During his speech, the President of the Republic, Azali Assoumani, encouraged the promotion of an entrepreneurial culture and the exploitation of untapped opportunities to stimulate innovation. “Investment remains possible in the Comoros. The country has talent, resources, and a dynamic youth,” he stated. The Head of State emphasized the need to empower young people to innovate in order to build a modern state, an emerging country, and a prosperous and united nation.

Azali Assoumani congratulated the organizers, including the Minister of Economy, Moustoifa Hassani Mohamed, and the Director General of ANPI, Nadjati Soidiki, as well as the event’s partners. The President encouraged the acceleration of reforms, the simplification of procedures, easier access to financing, and support for innovation. “These measures attract more investment and confirm that the Comoros represent a land of opportunity for those who dare to believe in the archipelago,” he added.
