Mauritius – Indonesia: boosting bilateral trade

Creating new opportunities for cooperation

On Wednesday, June 19, a delegation led by Cahyo R. Muzhar from the Indonesian Ministry of Human Rights met with Foreign Affairs Minister Maneesh Gobin for discussions.

The two sides discussed various issues to strengthen bilateral relations between Mauritius and Indonesia. Topics included reducing visa requirements to boost tourism and trade, enhancing air connectivity, and signing a privileged trade agreement.

Both countries welcomed the progress in improving visa conditions for Mauritian citizens traveling to Indonesia. Indonesian citizens enjoy a free 60-day visa on arrival in Mauritius. Additionally, both nations are exploring ways to improve air links.

These efforts aim to open new tourism prospects and foster cooperation by promoting greater mobility and strengthening trade.
