Dialogue on the Scattered Islands in Antananarivo

On July 14, 2025, the French National Day was celebrated in Antananarivo. During her speech, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rasata Rafaravavitafika, expressed, on behalf of President Andry Rajoelina, the Government, and the Malagasy people, her sincere congratulations to the French people and their institutions.

According to her, “This date symbolizes liberty, equality, and fraternity. These values are also very important for Madagascar and bring the two countries closer together.” The year 2025 is an important moment for cooperation between the two countries. The visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Madagascar marked a key milestone. Six important agreements were signed during this visit. “These partnerships demonstrate the willingness of both countries to work together in a balanced and stronger manner,” she said.

The Minister also discussed the discussions on the “Nosy Malagasy.” “*Discussions are progressing well, in a spirit of mutual respect. This gives hope for a positive and peaceful solution*,” announced the head of diplomacy.

The Bastille Day celebrations in Antananarivo were not just an official ceremony. “This celebration also demonstrated the strength of the ties between Madagascar and France. This day served as a reminder of the friendship between the two countries and their desire to build a common, stable, and prosperous future,” she added.
