A Breath of Fresh Air for Artistic Creation
Artists from several islands in the archipelago and Madagascar enlivened the Street Arts Festival in the Comoros.
Songs, acrobatics, dance, and theater punctuated this event organized by the Alliance Française of Moroni. Among the participants, the Nombaba Theater of Singani captivated the audience with its energy and creativity.
To encourage this young troupe, the Alliance Française presented circus equipment for acrobatics and juggling acts in Singani on October 10th. This symbolic gesture strengthens their motivation and offers them new perspectives in the world of entertainment.
The Director of the Alliance Française, Anaïs Bonnamino, praised the group’s commitment. According to her, the members of the Nombaba Theater bring a rare vitality to the Comorian scene. The latter promised to support their future projects and urged them to maintain the same spirit of passion and rigor.
The Alliance’s cultural director, Gamil Abdou Bacar, congratulated the young artists for their collective work. He emphasized the importance of this type of initiative in revitalizing local culture and encouraging other troupes to present their creations.
In the crowd, Athoumani Ahmed, a prominent figure and former actor from Singani, expressed his pride. According to him, theater holds a central place in the region’s tradition. “This success stems from a constant commitment passed down from generation to generation,” he announced.
The President of the Nombaba Theater, Ben Houwayad Ibrahim, warmly thanked the Alliance Française and the Malagasy troupe present at the festival. “This new equipment will help the group improve its performances and develop its circus and balancing skills,” he added.
