Walter Voigts-von Forster has been appointed Managing Director of Munich Re Africa Branch, the South African subsidiary of the German Munich Re Group.
Having joined Munich Re Africa in 2007, he has steadily risen through the ranks, holding several strategic positions that have enabled him to develop in-depth knowledge of the African market. Since January 2023, he has assumed leadership of the non-life sector, a role that will continue alongside his new CEO responsibilities.
Reporting to Roland Eckl, Managing Director of Munich Re Australasia, Greater China and MENA, his mission is to strengthen the group’s presence in Africa while consolidating relationships with clients and partners. His exemplary track record embodies the continuity and dynamism that the company seeks to instill on the continent, drawing on experienced and recognized leadership.
