Employment and businesses: the State extends a helping hand to the CCIR

Patrice Latron Meets Reunion’s Business Community

On July 16, 2025, the Prefect of Reunion Island, Patrice Latron, visited the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Reunion Island (CCIR). This visit strengthens the relationship between the State and local businesses, according to the official press release.

Local employment committees, provided for by the Full Employment Act, are at the center of the discussions. These structures will be established with the Regional Council and the Departmental Council. Their goal is to help businesses establish themselves, and especially to recruit more easily. The Prefect emphasized his support for the business community. *”I want to work more closely with the CCIR to help them grow,” he explained.

The official also hopes to find new ways to collaborate. “This visit should have taken place earlier,” added Patrice Latron. According to him, “It is important to meet with business leaders because they create wealth and jobs in Reunion.”

Pierrick Robert, President of the CCIR, confirmed this desire for cooperation. “The government supports us every day. Despite the economic crisis, we are always looking to better help companies,” he said. Present in all municipalities, the Chamber supports small businesses by offering them training and development support.
