SID’ELEMINE appointed Vice-President of WAPP

Mohamed Mahmoud Sid’elemine has been appointed Vice-Chairman of the Executive Board of the West African Power Pool (WAPP) for a three-year term. This appointment, approved at the 65th meeting of the Executive Board, recognizes the remarkable career of this energy sector professional.

As Managing Director of the Manantali Energy Management Company (SOGEM), Sid’elemine has distinguished himself through his leadership in the management of the Manantali hydroelectric power plant, a key infrastructure for electricity supply in several West African countries. Under his leadership, the performance and stability of the network have been significantly enhanced.

His expertise, forged through exposure to the technical and strategic realities of the sector, will be an asset to WAPP at a time when the region is experiencing strong growth in energy demand and a necessary transition to renewable energies.
