Rik De Buyserie has been appointed Managing Director of Engie in North Africa, succeeding Loïc Jaegert-Huber. With over 30 years of experience at Engie, the new CEO has held various responsibilities in energy production, infrastructure, human resources, and organizational transformation.
Most recently, he served as Regional Vice President of Transformation & Geography for Africa & APAC, while also coordinating operations in Morocco and Egypt. From 2022 to 2025, the expert led Engie’s activities in Australia and New Zealand, after leading Engie Energia Perú, a company listed on the Lima Stock Exchange, and coordinating support functions for Latin America. Holding a degree in industrial psychology from Ghent University and trained in general management at INSEAD, the CEO has extensive experience in diverse economic and cultural environments.
Upon his appointment, Rik De Buyserie affirmed his desire to actively contribute to the development of sustainable energy solutions in North Africa, a region considered strategic for the energy transition.
