New leadership for the World Bank in Africa

Fily Sissoko has been appointed Division Director at the World Bank Group, covering Mozambique, Madagascar, Mauritius, the Comoros, and Seychelles. An Ivorian national, Fily Sissoko brings more than 23 years of experience in international development. Prior to this appointment, he served as Country Director for Togo and led the global governance practice for the East Asia and Pacific region.

He joined the World Bank in 2002 as a financial management specialist in Dakar, where he gradually rose to several senior management positions. Heading a portfolio of 63 projects totaling 8.5 billion USD, Sissoko will be tasked with strengthening partnerships with governments and development actors. These projects cover key sectors such as education, health, energy, agriculture, and governance.
