AFRITAC South and ATI join forces to plan the economic future of Southern Africa
At the initiative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), two days of consultation will be held on June 30 and July 1, 2025, at a Novotel Convention Center in Antananarivo.
The event brings together representatives of AFRITAC South member countries and the Africa Training Institute (ATI), in partnership with the Malagasy Ministry of Economy and Finance. The objective is to take stock of achievements, define future priorities, and strengthen regional cooperation.
AFRITAC South, a capacity development center for 13 Southern African countries, provides services in strategic areas: public financial management, tax reform, customs modernization, banking supervision, and the fight against corruption. Madagascar is among the beneficiaries, with several ongoing projects, particularly in budget management and the development of state assets.
For its part, the Africa Training Institute offers high-level training for public administration executives. Courses cover topics such as fiscal and monetary policies, debt sustainability, and economic statistics. Sessions are available in several languages, with formats adapted to regional needs. By hosting this meeting, Antananarivo becomes a hub for reflection and experience sharing for more effective economic governance. Through this forum, participants affirm their commitment to strengthening skills, improving practices, and fostering more stable, inclusive, and sustainable development in Africa.
