SADC Summit: Madagascar prepares to welcome foreign delegations

An economic opportunity for tourism professionals

Madagascar is preparing to host the 45th Summit of SADC Heads of State and Government, scheduled for next August.

This Monday, Ministers Rafaravavitafika Rasata (Foreign Affairs) and Viviane Dewa (Tourism and Handicrafts) met with representatives of the capital’s hotels and restaurants at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Anosy.

The purpose of this meeting was to best organize the reception of high-level officials and foreign delegations,” announced a Foreign Ministry official. Emphasis was placed on the quality of accommodation and services to be offered during the summit.

For tourism stakeholders, this is a real opportunity. This major event will attract many visitors, and local hotels, restaurants, and artisans will have the opportunity to showcase their expertise. This could also bring them significant economic benefits.

The two ministers encouraged professionals to work closely with the authorities. The goal is to ensure seamless organization and a positive image of the country among foreign guests.

This summit is also a showcase for Madagascar. By successfully hosting this event, the country can strengthen its reputation as a tourist destination and demonstrate its ability to organize international events.
