DTS 183 Billion to Strengthen Resilience
The third and fourth evaluation missions for the Extended Credit Facility (ECF) and the Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF) programs concluded on April 8, 2026, in Antananarivo. These missions aimed to monitor program implementation and the use of financial resources.
The Minister of Economy and Finance, Dr. RAMIARISON Herinjatovo Aimé, indicated that progress was made in adhering to the budget and executing programs during the last two months of 2025. However, revenues remain below targets, and some investments, particularly in water and electricity, are still significantly behind schedule.
Despite these challenges, the Government emphasizes the importance of mobilizing funds and investing in basic infrastructure. “The objective is to support economic growth, address the current crisis, while ensuring food security and the country’s sustainable development,” the Minister emphasized.
Following these missions, the report will be presented to the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The IMF plans to release DTS 183 billion to support program implementation and finance national priorities. This funding will accelerate essential investment projects and strengthen the resilience of the Malagasy economy.
