The Central Bank of Seychelles (CBS) has announced the appointment of Mr. Jean-Paul Barbier as the newest addition to its Board of Directors, effective January 1, 2024. Mr. Barbier will assume this position for a six-year term, succeeding outgoing board members.
Bringing a wealth of expertise in central banking, Mr. Barbier boasts a decade-long tenure with the CBS, initially joining in 2007 as a Financial Services Analyst within the Financial Services Supervision Department. He holds a Master’s degree in Finance from the University of Melbourne, Australia, and a BA in Accounting and Finance from the University of Manchester.
The appointment of Mr. Barbier marks a strategic move for CBS, signaling a commitment to maintaining strong governance and fostering continued excellence in financial oversight. As the newest member of the Board of Directors, Mr. Barbier is poised to contribute his seasoned insights and leadership toward steering CBS’s strategic direction in the dynamic economic landscape of Seychelles.
