George Elombi est nomm\u00e9 Pr\u00e9sident de la Banque africaine d\u2019import-export (Afreximbank) lors de l\u2019Assembl\u00e9e g\u00e9n\u00e9rale annuelle tenue \u00e0 Abuja. Afreximbank, institution panafricaine cl\u00e9 du financement du commerce intra-africain, a son si\u00e8ge principal au Caire, en \u00c9gypte.<\/p>\n

Juriste camerounais de formation, ce dernier a rejoint Afreximbank en 1996 comme juriste avant de gravir tous les \u00e9chelons jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la vice-pr\u00e9sidence ex\u00e9cutive charg\u00e9e de la gouvernance, des affaires juridiques et des services corporatifs. Sa gestion remarquable lors de la crise sanitaire, avec la mobilisation de plus de 2 milliards USD pour l\u2019achat de vaccins en Afrique et dans les Cara\u00efbes, a largement contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 sa reconnaissance.<\/p>\n

Titulaire d\u2019un doctorat en arbitrage commercial de la London School of Economics et dipl\u00f4m\u00e9 de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Yaound\u00e9, le nouveau Pr\u00e9sident combine expertise juridique, exp\u00e9rience africaine et vision strat\u00e9gique. Sa nomination symbolise une avanc\u00e9e majeure pour la diplomatie \u00e9conomique camerounaise et ouvre de nouvelles perspectives pour l\u2019Afrique centrale, longtemps absente des premi\u00e8res sph\u00e8res financi\u00e8res du continent.<\/p>\n
