Arnold Ekpe est nomm\u00e9 Pr\u00e9sident du Conseil d\u2019administration de Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc, \u00e0 compter du 16 juin 2025. Ce dernier succ\u00e8de \u00e0 Alhaji Aliko Dangote, fondateur et figure embl\u00e9matique de l\u2019entreprise, qui quitte ses fonctions apr\u00e8s 20 ans de direction.<\/p>\n

\nFort de plus de 30 ans d\u2019exp\u00e9rience, Ekpe a occup\u00e9 des postes cl\u00e9s dans le secteur bancaire, notamment comme Directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral d\u2019Ecobank et d\u2019United Bank for Africa (UBA). Le nouveau PCA a \u00e9galement pr\u00e9sid\u00e9 la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 d\u2019investissement Atlas Mara entre 2013 et 2016. Depuis 2024, il \u00e9tait directeur non ex\u00e9cutif ind\u00e9pendant au sein du Conseil de Dangote Sugar Refinery, apportant conseil et expertise sans intervenir dans la gestion quotidienne.<\/p>\n

\nArnold Ekpe prend la t\u00eate de l\u2019entreprise dans un contexte difficile, l\u2019entreprise affichant deux ann\u00e9es fiscales cons\u00e9cutives de pertes importantes, dont 192,6 milliards de nairas en 2024. Le responsable devra relever le d\u00e9fi du redressement financier tout en accompagnant les projets d\u2019expansion ambitieux.<\/p>\n

\nLa soci\u00e9t\u00e9 vise \u00e0 augmenter sa production locale \u00e0 700\u2009000 tonnes de sucre raffin\u00e9 par an d\u2019ici 2031 et \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper ses activit\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019international, notamment avec un complexe agro-industriel au Ghana.
