Renforcer la protection des requins et des raies<\/h2>\n

Les Seychelles mettent l’accent sur la pr\u00e9servation de leurs populations contre les requins et les raies, en ouvrant un atelier pour \u00e9valuer la situation actuelle et d\u00e9finir des mesures concr\u00e8tes pour l’avenir.<\/b><\/p>\n

L’\u00e9v\u00e9nement de deux jours a rassembl\u00e9 des responsables de la pr\u00e9servation de la faune de domaines essentiels afin de faire face aux d\u00e9fis auxquels ces esp\u00e8ces vuln\u00e9rables font face. Selon Ashley Dias, directrice de la conservation de la biodiversit\u00e9, le minist\u00e8re de l’Environnement est en train de r\u00e9viser la loi et elle sera bient\u00f4t appel\u00e9e le projet de loi sur la protection de la faune sauvage. Cependant, il existe toujours des discussions avec les parties prenantes et partenaires pour d\u00e9terminer quelles autres esp\u00e8ces seront incluses dans la liste.<\/p>\n

\u00c0 l’\u00e9chelle mondiale, les requins, les raies et les chim\u00e8res sont les taxons marins les plus en danger. La surp\u00eache, la perte d’habitat et le changement climatique mettent en p\u00e9ril plus d’un tiers des esp\u00e8ces de requins. Bien que les Seychelles prennent des engagements internationaux pour la pr\u00e9servation de ces esp\u00e8ces, un seul requin, le requin-baleine, est aujourd’hui class\u00e9 sous la protection de la l\u00e9gislation nationale.<\/p>\n

Les experts d’organisations comme la Wildlife Conservation Society et l’Union internationale pour la conservation de la nature (UICN) interviennent lors de l’\u00e9v\u00e9nement. Les participants b\u00e9n\u00e9ficient des derni\u00e8res informations sur l’\u00e9tat des requins et des raies dans la r\u00e9gion et \u00e0 l’\u00e9chelle mondiale de ces experts.
