Assurer la croissance durable de la p\u00eache artisanale<\/h2>\n

Un moratoire impos\u00e9 aux Seychelles en ao\u00fbt 2023 sur l’importation et l’affr\u00e8tement de navires de p\u00eache palangri\u00e8re destin\u00e9s \u00e0 la p\u00eache thoni\u00e8re semi-industrielle a \u00e9t\u00e9 prolong\u00e9 jusqu’\u00e0 la mi-2026.<\/b><\/p>\n

L’annonce a \u00e9t\u00e9 faite par le vice-pr\u00e9sident Ahmed Afif lors d’un point de presse sur la d\u00e9cision du cabinet. Mercredi, le Conseil des ministres a valid\u00e9 l’extension de deux ans du moratoire apr\u00e8s une analyse approfondie des enjeux de durabilit\u00e9 et de gestion du secteur.<\/p>\n

D’apr\u00e8s l’Autorit\u00e9 des p\u00eaches des Seychelles (SFA), les navires de ce domaine n’ont pas beaucoup navigu\u00e9 ces deux derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, car il y a moins de poissons. Il a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que les navires passent d\u00e9sormais 10 \u00e0 15 % de temps en mer en plus et reviennent avec 10 \u00e0 15 % de poissons en moins.<\/p>\n

Le Cabinet a pris cette d\u00e9cision en r\u00e9ponse aux conclusions d\u2019un r\u00e9cent m\u00e9morandum. Celui-ci met en \u00e9vidence des probl\u00e8mes persistants tels que la mauvaise d\u00e9claration des statistiques de p\u00eache, la d\u00e9pendance vis-\u00e0-vis des \u00e9quipages \u00e9trangers, la capacit\u00e9 limit\u00e9e des infrastructures et la menace croissante de la p\u00eache illicite, non d\u00e9clar\u00e9e et non r\u00e9glement\u00e9e (INN).<\/p>\n

Le moratoire permettra de d\u00e9velopper des politiques et des strat\u00e9gies globales pour assurer la croissance durable \u00e0 long terme de la p\u00eache palangri\u00e8re artisanale des Seychelles. Notamment le plan national de gestion de la capacit\u00e9 de la flotte et des encouragements \u00e0 l’emploi local qui sont en cours de finalisation.
