Le taux de ch\u00f4mage des jeunes en hausse<\/h2>\n

Le taux de ch\u00f4mage s’\u00e9l\u00e8verait \u00e0 6,3 % au premier trimestre dernier, contre 6,1 % au quatri\u00e8me trimestre de 2023 et 6,7 % pour le trimestre correspondant en 2023.<\/b><\/p>\n

Selon Statistics Mauritius, en comparaison avec le m\u00eame trimestre de 2023, le nombre de travailleurs a augment\u00e9 de 4 700. Le taux d’emploi augmente de 6 800 tandis que le taux de ch\u00f4mage diminue de 2 100. Pendant la m\u00eame p\u00e9riode, le nombre de personnes aptes au travail a diminu\u00e9 de 2 500.<\/p>\n

41 % des 37 300 sans emploi sont des hommes et 59 % des femmes. De plus, 45 % des personnes sans emploi (16 600 personnes) ne poss\u00e8dent pas de certificat scolaire et 3 200 n’ont pas obtenu le certificat d’ach\u00e8vement scolaire primaire. De plus, 36 % des personnes \u00e0 la recherche d’un emploi ont entre 16 et 24 ans.<\/p>\n

Au premier trimestre 2024, on estime que le taux de ch\u00f4mage des jeunes est de 18,9 %, contre 20 % au premier trimestre de l’ann\u00e9e pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente. Il y avait 26 700 travailleurs \u00e9trangers en 2023, tandis que 28 300 en 2022 et 30 000 en 2021 \u00e9taient le nombre total. Par ailleurs, il convient de souligner que la moyenne des heures de travail par semaine a diminu\u00e9.
