La r\u00e9cente enqu\u00eate ind\u00e9pendante sur la p\u00eache montre que la p\u00eache ill\u00e9gale pourrait entra\u00eener une diminution de la population de homards dans les \u00eeles des Seychelles.<\/b><\/p>\n

Dans une interview accord\u00e9e \u00e0 la SNA lors d’un atelier, Kettyna Gabriel, la scientifique principale \u00e0 la Seychelles Fishing Authority (SFA), affirme que l’\u00e9tude met en \u00e9vidence une augmentation du nombre de homards dans les zones proches des \u00eeles ext\u00e9rieures comme Bird Island et Denis. Il est possible que cela soit d\u00fb \u00e0 la pression de la p\u00eache, car il y a beaucoup de p\u00eaches ill\u00e9gales m\u00eame en p\u00e9riode de fermeture.<\/p>\n

Depuis 2021, la SFA collabore activement avec The Nature Conservancy. Il s’agit de rep\u00e9rer les difficult\u00e9s et trouver des solutions pour \u00e9laborer une strat\u00e9gie de r\u00e9colte pour la p\u00eache au homard. En 2019, TNC a eu des entretiens avec le gouvernement des Seychelles et la SFA lors d’une mission de cadrage. Les autorit\u00e9s ont choisi d’utiliser FishPath afin de rep\u00e9rer les probl\u00e8mes et les solutions associ\u00e9s \u00e0 la p\u00eache au crabe des neiges et au homard dans l’\u00eele.<\/p>\n

Aux Seychelles, une approche personnalis\u00e9e du processus FishPath a \u00e9t\u00e9 mise en place.
