Situ\u00e9 \u00e0 l’entr\u00e9e de Grand Baie, \u00e0 l’\u00eele Maurice, The Precinct, un complexe commercial de bureaux compos\u00e9 de trois b\u00e2timents, vient de marquer un jalon significatif en devenant le premier complexe commercial d’Afrique \u00e0 obtenir la prestigieuse certification EcoDistrict.<\/b><\/p>\n

Greg Pearson, PDG et co-fondateur de Gateway Real Estate Africa (GREA), une filiale de Grit Real Estate Income Group (Grit), une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 cot\u00e9e \u00e0 Londres et le promoteur de The Precinct, s’est exprim\u00e9 \u00e0 ce sujet le 31 juillet dernier : \u00ab Nous sommes extr\u00eamement fiers de l’obtention de la certification EcoDistrict par The Precinct. C’est la premi\u00e8re fois qu’un projet commercial en Afrique acc\u00e8de \u00e0 un tel statut, ce qui t\u00e9moigne de notre vision de cr\u00e9er des r\u00e9f\u00e9rences mondiales en mati\u00e8re d’immobilier sur le continent. L’EcoDistricts Protocol repr\u00e9sente un cadre rigoureux pour le d\u00e9veloppement urbain durable, ax\u00e9 sur la satisfaction des besoins de la population et la promotion de la vitalit\u00e9 \u00e9conomique au sein des quartiers et des districts locaux \u00bb. <\/i><\/p>\n

La certification EcoDistrict marque une \u00e9tape majeure dans notre engagement en faveur d’un d\u00e9veloppement immobilier responsable et d’une empreinte carbone minimale. Elle s’ajoute \u00e0 la certification 5 \u00e9toiles Green Star r\u00e9cemment obtenue par l’Unity Building de The Precinct. En plus de cet actif embl\u00e9matique, GREA a \u00e9galement d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 l’h\u00f4pital Artemis Curepipe, r\u00e9cemment inaugur\u00e9, et est actuellement impliqu\u00e9 dans la construction du centre d’oncologie Artemis Coromandel, tous deux situ\u00e9s \u00e0 l’\u00eele Maurice.<\/p>\n

Shevira Bissessor, Chief Operating Officer de GREA et Head of ESG pour Grit, explique : \u00ab La certification EcoDistrict repose sur trois principaux imp\u00e9ratifs : l’\u00e9quit\u00e9, la r\u00e9silience et la protection du climat. Les \u00e9valuateurs prennent en compte six domaines prioritaires, notamment le lieu, la prosp\u00e9rit\u00e9, la sant\u00e9 et le bien-\u00eatre, la connectivit\u00e9, les infrastructures \u00e9cologiques et la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de ressources, entre autres, dans leur processus d’\u00e9valuation. La certification EcoDistrict vise principalement \u00e0 nous guider vers une empreinte carbone nulle \u00e0 l’avenir, et nos progr\u00e8s par rapport \u00e0 ces objectifs seront mesur\u00e9s tous les deux ans pour conserver cette certification \u00bb.<\/i><\/p>\n

Pour l’obtention de la certification EcoDistrict et de la certification 5 \u00e9toiles Green Star de l’Unity Building, des consultants ind\u00e9pendants, dont Solid Green, ont apport\u00e9 leurs pr\u00e9cieux conseils. Grit, en tant que principal locataire de The Precinct, a son si\u00e8ge mondial au sein du complexe.<\/p>\n
